Project Details

The I-26 at US 21/US 176 Interchange Improvement Project (Exit 119) is a major infrastructure upgrade located along the Lexington–Calhoun County line in South Carolina. This project modernizes the existing interchange to improve safety, traffic flow, and freight mobility for one of the Midlands’ most heavily traveled corridors. Work includes widening the US 21/US 176 overpass, reconstructing interstate ramps, improving turn lanes and frontage roads, and addressing drainage and environmental concerns within the project limits. By bringing the interchange up to current interstate standards, the project enhances regional connectivity and supports the growth of nearby manufacturing and distribution centers. New eastbound and westbound exit ramps opened to traffic in mid-2024, marking a key milestone toward full completion scheduled for Spring 2026. Once finished, the upgraded interchange will deliver a safer and more efficient gateway for travelers and commerce along the I-26 corridor.
