This year marks a monumental milestone for Jeff Hanson—his 15th anniversary with United Infrastructure Group (UIG). From starting as an affiliate safety services company to becoming a key leader in the company, Jeff’s journey is a testament to his unwavering commitment to his team, his work, and his personal growth.
A Journey of Growth and Leadership
When Jeff first joined UIG in 2010, he brought with him a wealth of experience from his own company, Hanson Safety Services (HSS). What started as a consulting role quickly blossomed into a full-time leadership position, where Jeff took on the responsibility of building and expanding UIG’s health, safety, training, and environmental programs. Over the years, his role grew to encompass risk management, insurance, legal matters, and claims case management, all while staying true to his passion for creating safer work environments.
Proudest Achievements
When asked about his proudest moments, Jeff points to several milestones:
- Completing his M.S. in Safety, Security, & Emergency Management Planning.
- Earning the prestigious Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation.
- Leading a talented HSE & Risk Management team dedicated to building a safe, healthy workplace for UIG and its affiliates.
But perhaps his most fulfilling achievement is the opportunity to grow spiritually and personally alongside his UIG family. For Jeff, his role isn’t just about work—it\’s about caring for his team and providing for them, just as he has for his own family.
A Love for People and the Work We Do
What Jeff loves most about working at UIG is the people. From the skilled craft workers to the professional staff, everyone at UIG is treated like family. \”To see the effort put forth to treat everyone as a family while building bridges, constructing culverts, and demolishing structures is amazing,” Jeff says. The camaraderie and collective effort toward meaningful infrastructure projects is what keeps him motivated every day.

For those just starting out at UIG, Jeff’s advice is simple but powerful: “Buckle up and be ready! Bring your talent, time, and treasure to the fight.” The opportunities ahead are vast, and Jeff is confident that continued growth and success are in store for the company and its people.

As for what’s next, Jeff’s goals are as inspiring as ever. While he looks forward to continuing his contributions to UIG in the years to come, he’s also excited about the next chapter in his personal life. With his sons preparing to attend Clemson University in Fall 2025, Jeff is eager to play an active role in their journeys as they grow.
