I-26 Widening Cypress Swamp

The project involves widening I-26, expanding it from 4 to 6 lanes over approximately 12 miles and from 4 to 8 lanes over about 4 miles. Improvements are planned at interchanges including Exit 97 (US 176), Exit 91 (S-48 Columbia Ave.), and Exit 85 (SC 202). Additionally, overpass bridge replacements are expected at S-58 (Koon Road), S-80 (Shady Grove Road), S-234 (Mt. UIG serves as the bridge subcontractor to Banks Construction on this project, tasked with replacing the existing dual bridges on I-26 over Cypress Swamp (Stage 1, 4 spans) and replacing two other bridges over I-26: one at SC 27 (Bridge 2, 2 spans) and another at S-32 (Bridge 3, 2 spans).
