This project involves the new construction and widening of approximately 3.06 miles of US 1/SR 4 north of Lyons, Georgia, to improve roadway capacity, safety, and long-term transportation reliability. The project includes construction of a new bridge over Swift Creek as part of the corridor improvements. The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is the project owner, and McLendon Enterprises, Inc. is serving as the prime contractor.

United Infrastructure Group is serving as a subcontractor to McLendon Enterprises, Inc., performing construction of the Swift Creek bridge. UIG’s scope includes driving more than 8,000 linear feet of piles, constructing bridge bents and caps, and erecting nearly 5,000 linear feet of precast concrete girders. Additional work includes drilled shaft installation, structural concrete placement, bridge deck grooving, concrete parapet wall construction, and installation of aggregate underdrains at the bridge approaches.

Through the delivery of these critical structural components, UIG is helping advance a modern, durable bridge structure that will enhance safety, improve traffic flow, and support continued growth in the Lyons area and surrounding region.
