Bridge Replacement

This project consists of the replacement of the existing bridge carrying S-16 (Sardis Road) over the Tyger River in Union County, South Carolina. Work includes demolition and removal of the existing bridge structure and construction of a new bridge structure with associated roadway improvements, approach roadway reconstruction, drainage upgrades, and installation of new guardrail and traffic control devices. Construction also includes drilled shafts and other deep foundation elements, structural concrete, and installation of permanent traffic control features in accordance with SCDOT standards.
The project requires coordination with environmental permitting agencies, including compliance with USACE Nationwide Permit conditions and SCDHEC permits, and implementation of best management practices to protect the Tyger River and adjacent wetlands during construction.
