Bridge Package 17 is a South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) design-build project involving the replacement of six structurally deficient bridges in Union County. The project includes bridge replacements at SC 72 over Cox Creek, SC 49 over the Tyger River, SC 49 over Fairforest Creek, US 176 over Padgetts Creek, SC 114 over Sandy Run Creek, and SC 215 over Fairforest Creek. Work includes demolition and removal of the existing structures, construction of new bridge structures and foundations, roadway approach reconstruction, drainage improvements, and tie-ins to existing roadways. The design-build delivery emphasizes schedule certainty, cost control, and minimizing impacts to right-of-way, utilities, traffic, and the surrounding environment.
