Project Details

United-Blythe Joint Venture is leading construction of the new SC 160 Interchange at I-77 (Exit 85) in Fort Mill, York County. The project replaces the existing diamond interchange with an Offset Directional Interchange (ODI) — the first of its kind in South Carolina — designed to separate conflicting traffic movements, reduce congestion, and improve safety. In addition, the project widens more than one mile of SC-160 between US-21 and Pleasant Road, adding lanes, modernizing intersections, and enhancing corridor operations.

Scope of Work

– Demolition and full reconfiguration of the existing interchange
– Construction of three major bridge structures and realigned ramps
– Roadway widening with new through and turn lanes
– Drainage improvements and major utility coordination
– Installation of updated signals, signing, and pavement markings
– Pedestrian and streetscape enhancements along the SC-160 corridor

Project Highlights

– Estimated value: ~$160 million
– Owner: South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT)
– Local partners: Town of Fort Mill, Rock Hill–Fort Mill Area Transportation Study (RFATS), York County
